The Covington Engineering Small Sphere Machine is built for lapidary artists who want precision, consistency, and beautifully polished stone spheres in miniature sizes. Designed to create spheres from 1/4" to 1" in diameter, this compact yet powerful machine transforms rough pre-shaped stones into smooth, perfectly rounded spheres with remarkable accuracy.

Powered by dual 1/12 HP motors, the Small Sphere Machine keeps your material moving evenly through a continuous grit bath for efficient grinding and polishing. The innovative downward-slanted cutter cup design automatically distributes grit while directing slurry away from the bearings, helping reduce maintenance and improve long-term performance.

The spring-loaded cutting head automatically compensates as material is removed, minimizing constant adjustments during the shaping process. As the rough edges begin to disappear, the cutting angle can be easily adjusted for finer shaping and precision finishing. Whether you're crafting collectible gemstone spheres, restoring vintage marbles, or producing small decorative stone pieces, this machine delivers reliable and repeatable results.

Good tumbler for the price

The tumbler was a little slow being delivered, but after my first full polish cycle, I'm pretty pleased with the results. Some rocks didn't finish the way I'd hoped, but it is more likely that inconsistent rock shapes and cavities.
