The Covington Engineering Flat Lap Starter Kit is the perfect companion to any Covington Beveler Grinder. Whether you're just getting started with gemstone cutting or building out a professional studio, this all-in-one kit includes the essential lapidary tools and accessories to begin your journey into precision stonework.

Designed by the experts at Covington, this kit eliminates the guesswork by bundling their recommended accessories into one streamlined package. From rough grinding to fine polishing, each disc and component has been selected to give you clean, professional results on a variety of stones—right out of the box.

What’s Included:

  • Submersible Water Pump with 10 feet of ¼" pipe
    Keeps your grinding discs cool and clean during extended cutting sessions. Pump 200 gallons per hour with 1' of pipe and 105 gallons per hour at 5'.

  • 100 Grit Grinding Disc (choose Nickel Bonded or Dot Disc)
    Perfect for aggressive material removal and shaping rough slabs.

  • 270 Grit Grinding Disc (choose Nickel Bonded or Dot Disc)
    Ideal for smoothing surfaces after coarse grinding.

  • 325 Grit Resin Bonded Disc
    Delivers a fine finish in preparation for polishing.

  • Felt Polishing Disc
    Used with cerium oxide for that final professional shine.

  • 1 lb Optical Grade Cerium Oxide
    High-quality polishing compound designed to bring out the luster in gemstones and glass.

  • Beveler Grinder Stand (included only with 12-inch kit)

Shopping was easy and fast. Also the cabbing machine arrived quickly and packaged very well. My husband unpacked it and made sure it ran. He did discover a cracked tray and called customer service. It was corrected very quickly with a replacement. Great company to do business with.

Everything arrived in good shape and delivery was smooth. Haven't gotten started yet with the tumbler so can't tell you about how it works. The instructions didn't tell me how to attach the bowl to the base! Had to learn that from a You-Tube video! Haven't plugged it in yet.
