As stones become smaller throughout the tumbling process, there is often extra room inside the barrel. Plastic pellets act as a filler to maintain the proper load level, allowing the stones to gently roll over one another instead of colliding with excessive force. This helps minimize bruising, chipping, and edge damage while producing a smoother, higher-quality polish.
Plastic pellets are especially useful when polishing delicate materials, mixed-size loads, or whenever your barrel is not completely full.
